Spring 2026 Player Evaluations

Please read below for important information and the schedule for our mandatory player assessments on Saturday, January 31. If we have to cancel Saturday due to rain/unplayable fields, we will shift to Sunday, February 1 at the same times for all age groups. Watch your email and our social media for updates.

  • Evaluating players before the draft helps us attempt to create balanced teams across each age level. Northwest Softball does not have A, B, C skill level teams.
  • ALL 8U, 10U, and 12U players must attend an evaluation, including coaches' kids. There are no evaluations for 6U.
  • All players interested in pitching and/or catching need to attend the additional pitching/catching assessment, regardless of experience.
  • Make up assessments will take place on Sunday, February 1 from 1:00 - 3:30 pm at the NWS field (schedule at the bottom of this page).
  • 14U player volunteers are welcome and appreciated — we will sign off on volunteer hours if you need them for your school or service organization.
  • Be sure to bring a glove. We will have bats, helmets, and faceguards available for those who need to borrow.
  • Assessments take place at the Northwest Softball Fields off Bullard Dr. See field location.
