NWS Weekly Hits: FOF Volunteers & NAO Rules | Northwest Softball

Message

This is a communication from Northwest Softball:

The Hits
It’s hard to believe we only have three weekends of spring ball left! It’s been wonderful seeing the girls grow their skills and develop confidence on the field each week.

Reminder: Parking & Pet Rules at NAO
Please follow NAO’s rules during practices and games—and share them with any family or friends who may join you at the field. Northwest Softball relies on leased space at NAO, and maintaining this relationship is crucial.

  • No parking next to fields: The dirt area north of the softball field is a no-parking zone (note: one coach with equipment may park here). All parents, assistant coaches, and spectators must park in the paved lot between the soccer and ball fields, no exceptions.
  • No pets allowed: Pets are not permitted anywhere at NAO. Do not bring dogs to the field during practice or to games. If you show up with a pet to your child’s game, you will be asked to leave.

Fielding Our Future Volunteers Needed

As you have likely seen, NWS has launched Fielding Our Future (FOF)—a campaign to build a new two-field softball complex with lights, restrooms, concessions, and more. As we move into the next phase, we need your help! We’re looking for parent volunteers, especially those with experience in:

  • Fundraising or grant writing
  •  Construction
  •  Event planning
  •  Graphic design

Interested? Please complete the FOF Volunteer Interest Form.

Summer Softball Opportunities

If you are still making your summer plans, don’t miss these opportunities for softball, from league play to camps and clinics:

  • RBI Softball Summer League: Many NWS families enjoyed RBI last summer. It’s a great option for keeping skills sharp while working around busy summer schedules. Games and practices are held at local fields, including NAO. More information for RBI Softball can be found here.
  • D-Bat Clinics/Lessons: The D-Bat facilities in Pflugerville and Cedar Park offer summer camps for softball players, ages 5-13. They also offer other clinics and private lessons.
  •  Concordia University Softball Camp: Concordia offers youth camps for ages 6–12 and 10–14, focused on throwing, fielding, hitting, pitching, and catching—all while having fun! Learn more and register for a Concordia camp here.

Area high schools may also host summer softball camps; we will share information if it becomes available.

All-Star Registration Due Friday

Players selected to an All-Star roster received an email yesterday with information on registering for the season. Please complete your daughter’s registration by 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25.
